“Be the reason for someone’s heartbeat. Because every drop counts.”
Date: 12th September 2025 Venue: Valia Hall, The Bhawanipur Education Society College Organised by: The Bhawanipur Education Society College in collaboration with Project Life Force (PLF) and NSS Collective
On 12th September 2025, The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted its flagship Blood Donation Carnival – Operation RED 2025, in collaboration with Project Life Force (PLF), with additional support from the NSS Collective.
Themed “Mission: Possible,” the event celebrated humanity, courage, and compassion, transforming the act of blood donation into a true carnival of life. Held at Valia Hall, the camp successfully ran from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., recording a remarkable 527 donors—527 heroes who stepped forward to gift life.
Why a Carnival, not a Campaign? Unlike most initiatives of its kind, the event is aptly called a “carnival”—because it went beyond a clinical drive, creating an atmosphere of celebration, empathy, and joy. Each 350 ml of donated blood carries the potential to save more than one life, and the donors were recognised not just for their contribution but for embodying the PLF motto: “I am the Change.”
Two teams—Red and Blue—represented the Saroj Gupta Cancer Center & Research Institute and People’s Blood Bank, working in partnership with PLF. This year marked the 11th year of collaboration between PLF and BESC, strengthening the belief that “Every Drop Counts.”
The Day’s Highlights The morning began with the unifying chant “I am the Change,” followed by the announcement of camp chiefs Anshika Yajnik and Yashvi Doshi. The inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony was graced by Sri Rajanikant Dani, Chairman, BESC, alongside faculty members and committee representatives, setting a tone of inspiration and encouragement.
The donation process was systematically organised:
Registration & Check-up: Donors registered at the entrance, underwent weight checks, haemoglobin and blood pressure tests, and a doctor’s consultation.
Team Allocation: Eligible donors received glucose, a numbered sticker, and were placed in either the Red or Blue team.
Donation & Recognition: At Valia Hall, donors were welcomed with applause and congratulatory cheers, reinforcing their role as life-savers. Each donor received a certificate, donor cap, and refreshments, and had their proud moment captured at the photo booth.
To add vibrancy, PLF volunteers performed a flash mob, enactment, and dance routine on the turf, engaging students and drawing cheers from the crowd. At 2:00 p.m., a DJ session elevated the festive spirit, creating a space of joy and celebration for all who had contributed.
Impact The carnival concluded with 527 successful donations, a testament to the collective spirit of students, volunteers, faculty, and organisers. Beyond the numbers, the event spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and showcased the power of youth-led change.
As the theme suggests, “Mission: Possible” was not just about accomplishing a target—it was about saving lives, celebrating humanity, and proving that compassion thrives at the heart of BESC.
📌 The Blood Donation Carnival 2025 was a resounding success — a reminder that while blood donation is a simple act, its impact is profound, life-saving, and everlasting.
