The Women’s Cell of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, in association with IQAC, celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2025 with an event entitled S.H.E (Stands. Hurdles. Empowers.). The celebration was held at Jubilee Hall from 12 PM to 3 PM.
Objective of the Event
The celebration was organised to highlight the essence of International Women’s Day through reinforcing the commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Brief Description of the Event
As part of the observance, an Exhibition-cum-Sale was organised in collaboration with the Institute of Social Work (ISW), Kolkata. ISW is an organisation that is committed to experiential and learning-oriented development, with a primary focus on women and children. The initiative of S.H.E. aimed to showcase and promote the work of women entrepreneurs and artisans, fostering economic empowerment. The event emphasised the challenges women face and their resilience in overcoming them, aligning with the theme of empowerment. Bags, purses, stationaries, pickles, jam, spices, handicraft items and many other items were exhibited. Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff gathered to see the exhibition and bought several items, making the profit of the exhibitors to an appreciable amount.
Outcome of the Event
The program provided a platform for discussions, interactions, and awareness regarding women’s rights and achievements. Faculty members, students, and guests participated actively, making the event a meaningful tribute to women’s strength and contributions.
