TOMORROW LOOKS GOOD FROM HERE, a musical comedy, adapted from the play: One Man, Two Guvnors by Richard Bean, was organised by the students of the English Department on 14th of May from 2:45 to 4:30 PM at the Jubilee Hall. The play was staged on the collaborative efforts of the students of the English Department under Swagata Mukherjee, who was the organiser and director of this creative venture. The cast of the play comprised of 11 students who portrayed different characters and they are as follows: Soumya Sarthi, Debanshu Ghosh, Joydeep Mukherjee, Hemoshmita Das, Ashmita Das, Aasmita Das, Shrijan Das Gupta, Wreet Gupta, Theo Wreek Gupta, Tessa Bakshi and Ayudh Sarkar.
The technicals of the play was handled by Aman Jigar Desai and the music composer of the play was Anusha Banerjee. The makeup and styling was done by Sumedha Banerjee. The title of the musical was coined by Hemoshmita Roy and Adiptya Mukherjee. The play also consisted a number of dance set-pieces which were choreographed by Geeti Maity, Surasree Ghosal and Aishy Mukherjee.
The poster designer of the play was Sougata Mukherjee. Around 200 theatre enthusiasts gathered in the auditorium to watch the enthralling musical comedy, full of humorous dialogues and colourful characters. The vibrancy of the actors enchanted the audience with their mesmerising auras and their brilliant acting. The whimsical and playful choice of ambience music and songs added an extra flare to the exuberant theatrical performance. The play was acclaimed by the esteemed professors of the English Department and all the attendants enjoyed witnessing the play. Overall it was a huge success, the people resonated with the characters and enjoyed the peppy songs and dances in the simple-yet-humorous plot of the contemporary musical drama.
