The Department of M.Com at The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized an extension lecture focused on the topic “An Insight on Business Research Methodology” for Semester 4 students. The lecture took place on Wednesday, 3rd May 2023, at 3:00 pm in Room No-443.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Amalendu Bhuniya, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Commerce at Kalyani University. The event was attended by 36 students and 2 teachers from the M.Com Department.
Ms. Dipannita Chatterjee delivered the welcome address, providing insights into Dr. Bhuniya’s expertise and work. Dr. Bhuniya initiated the lecture by acquainting the students with the
fundamental concepts of research, emphasizing the process of selecting a research area, topic, and title. He elaborated on the distinctions between primary and secondary data, illustrating various sources for data extraction. Dr. Bhuniya also addressed the importance of avoiding plagiarism and the proper usage of citations in research papers. Engaging with the students, Dr. Bhuniya explored their research interests and provided guidance on advancing their research endeavors, emphasizing the requisite attitudes for effective research. Additionally, he suggested potential research areas to facilitate students’ decision-making processes.
Ms. Debalina Chattopadhyay extended a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Prof. Paramita Chakravarty, the Coordinator of the M.Com Department, and other faculty members, including Ms. Dipannita Chatterjee, for their contributions. The presentation was acknowledged for its value to the students, with hopes for more such informative events in the future.
