53 physics faculty members from 33 different colleges under Calcutta University joined the workshop. Inaugural session started with the short speech of VP Science and Dean of Science in Room no. 426 of our college at 10.30 AM. IQAC coordinator Dr. Anupa Ghosh and faculties from all other departments of science section attended the inaugural session. This session was conducted by Dr. Suparna Basak.
Technical session I of the workshop was arranged in the new building’s 3rd floor physics laboratory. Here teachers were given the opportunity to handle different instruments, some of which are new to them in their colleges. All physics department faculties of our college and our lab assistants Abhijit Dey, Bapan Mondal demonstrated and helped all participants to understand the experiments/set up.
In Technical session II of the workshop (arranged in room number 426) faculty members shared their viewpoints to make a general guideline and model questions for conducting a smooth run of upcoming SEM 6 Practical Examination in all colleges having Physics Honors stream under Calcutta University. All the faculty members from different colleges actively participated in both the sessions. This second session was conducted by one of the conveners Dr. Subarnarekha Bhattacharyya. Mission of the workshop was fully achieved.
This workshop is funded by The Bhawanipur Education Society College and some contribution from Saha Scientific Supplier.
Dr. Suparna Basak gave the vote of thanks to the Management, Teacher-in-Charge, Dean of science, VP Science and IQAC coordinator for their constant support to make this workshop a success in such a short time. She also mentioned our laboratory staff whose hard work made this program successful.
Program was ended with the distribution of certificates at 3.30 PM.
