Independence Day Celebrations

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative taken by the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people and culture and to celebrate their achievements. This day serves as a reminder of the numerous sacrifices made by our freedom warriors in order to free India from the oppressive British tyranny.

On 15th August 2022, The Bhawanipur Education Society College celebrated the 76th Independence Day of our Mother India. The festivities began from 09:30 AM with the Flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem ‘Jana- Gana-Mana’, sung by the audience with full patriotism and passion. Present on the occasion were members from the management Sri. Bulbul Shah, Sri Pankaj Parekh, Sri. Jitendra Shah, Sri Umesh Thacker, Smt. Nalini Parekh, Smt. Renuka Bhatt along with the Teacher in-Charge Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Dilip Shah & the Director General Dr. Suman K Mukerjee. Chief guest for the occasion were Commander Vishnu Sharma, Subedar Bhawani Risal and Sergeant Bharat Bon Pun.

The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School students (ICSE) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of the College, which consists of both the Air Wing and the Army Wing, then put up a well-coordinated march-past for the audience. Followed by member from the management Sri. Bulbul Shah illuminating students of India’s incredible journey of 75 years and the fact that we have all gathered after a gap of 2 years of lockdown to celebrate this occasion together. After that the Teacher in-Charge Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, enlightened the audience on the difficulties our country endured before becoming well-known on a global scale and how it keeps moving forward despite setbacks. And the Chief guest Commander Vishnu Sharma was felicitated by Dr. Mukerjee with a souvenir.

This year’s celebration was dedicated to the tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda and bringing out stories of the unsung hero who made sacrifices in India’s freedom struggle was an inspiring performance by college student Raunak Tater in.

The audience then enjoyed some cultural performances given by students from The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School (ICSE & ISC), which included energetic dance numbers to patriotic songs like “Aloye Akash”, dramatic presentations that highlighted the value of technology in modern society, and a choir that sang songs like “Humko Man Ki Shakti Dena” and “Swachhta Aur Pani.”

The students from the Bhawanipur Design Academy electrified the stage with their presentation on the theme “Anekta mei Ekta,” in which they showcased the traditions and way of life of numerous Indian states. With their performance of “Maa Tujhe Salam,” the College collective Crescendo brightened this occasion, the audience erupted in applause when the student collective Fashionista displayed their Ramp Walk, in which girls and boys were dressed up as various inhabitants of the Indian states, showcasing their attire, way of life, and habits.

With the topic “Mera Desh Badal Raha hai, Aage badh raha hai,” the college group Enact created an exceptional and audacious performance in which they depicted the difficulties and hardships of the Indians under the oppressive British Rule. Last but not the least, students of the Flames collective performed both traditional and modern dance numbers, which enthralled the crowd and had them clapping along.

The college also held a ceremony to present prizes to those who dressed the best. The prize winners were Ms. Charu Singh and Dr. Suman Mukerjee among the faculty/ management, and Ms. Diksha Dalmia (BBA hons) and Mr. Aryan Jaiswal (Design Academy) among the students.
Additionally, the students of the ENACT collective created a film called “Lahore -Story of Undivided India” in which they depicted the atrocities of the partition and the conflict in the military at the time was showcased at Jubilee Hall after the event.

At the conclusion of this Grand Celebration, we witness Dean Professor Dilip Shah, Commander Vishnu Sharma, Subedar Bhawani Risal, Sergeant Bharat Bon Pun, and Mr. Aditya Raj congratulating the NCC Air wing students for their excellence and dedication at their Rank ceremony.

These students were CSUO Raj Tiwary, CUO Anjali Kumari , CWO Shashank Sheker Tiwari , CWO Sneha Sethiya , Cadet Sgt Sabiha Noor , Cadet Sgt Rahil Haque , Cadet Cpl Harshita Shukla , Cadet Cpl Aditi A Sanjay and LFC Muqaddas Bin Nasir.
