The Bhawanipur Educational Society College organised an event on ‘Career Counselling’ which took place on April 13, 2022 at the Jubliee Hall of the college from 11:30 a.m onwards. There were over 250+ students including class XI and XII from The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School and the rest from the college majority of which were from the B.Com department.
The event started with an introduction speech by the Dean of student’s affair Prof. Dilip Shah who asked the students to choose their career wisely. He enlightened student on the UPSE exams that more and more students should come forward for these exams. He spoke about data analytics which is a very well known and happening course these days and the GST course running in the College. He again informed the students about the 14 courses of Career Connect running which are absolutely free or with a very minimal cost. And the most important thing he spoke about was Tally, which everyone can pursue irrespective of which stream they are from. He also advised the students to attend every event going on in the college campus.
The next speaker was Prof. Meenakshi Chaturvedi who stated about attending courses and how they are going to help the students to improve one’s CV and job opportunities. She also spoke about CFP and the ACCA courses. She told the students to register themselves for Tally Prime.
The third speaker was Prof. Jayanta Mitra from Xavier’s University who had an informal discussion about money, finance with the students present and also stated how to make yourself stand apart, he spoke about broadening skill set by various courses. He basically spoke about career progression, why we need a finance professional degree, and the utter need of a global exposure, importance and opportunities you get after this ACCA course, about Fintech (financial technology analyst), about financial technology, Internet banking, in between he asked certain questions the students answered he also corrected them and elaborated their points.
The last and final speaker was Principal Mrs. Mou Banerjee. She spoke about the entire session and thanked the dean’s office for organising such an important event and told the students to register and join the courses as soon as they are done with their exams, told the students about interest and ability and acquiring the skills, corporate communication, importance of communication, organising data and advanced excel.
The event ended on a good note. Looking forward to more such events.
