We have a story to share: the college hosted its very own talent set of Arijit Singh, Rupi Kaur, Zakir Khan, and artists galore at an elaborate open mic event on 25th September, 2021. Poetry, music, shayari or comedy – name it, and we had it covered!
The theme revolved around “Jazbaaton ka safar, alfaazon ke saath”. True to the sentiments which every caged heart bore, who would not love to be heard?
Let alone an overwhelming number of Be-ites, students from different institutions including St. Xavier’s College, THK Jain College, participated in the event as well, and the bar of success was no less than super high.
Cheerful spirits echoed behind the glass doors, with soothing voices and soft lights worked their magic. The ambience was a sight for the eyes, albeit words can’t suffice…
A pen permits the voice of the soul. Indeed, the participants manifested this through their write-ups. Stories, poems and shared experiences were voiced to the heart’s content. And while singing is a talent, having their original compositions out there in front of a huge audience was a big feat. Needless to say, we’ve also had the privilege of having shayars in the club, because pen is also mightier than sword!
Students across streams and courses enrolled for the event and performed well.
Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of student affairs graced the event with his ever- delightful aura and a soulful poem. Prof. Vasundhara Mishra set the tone of the event with her excellent deliberations. And students’ beloved Mr. Sourav Goswami, the mentor of Crescendo collective, sang a sweet melody song for the students: “Bade achhe lagte hai” remained no longer just a song, but also a memory that every participant took home with themselves.
A break from all things virtual, the programme was conducted in-person at the college placement hall at 11 a.m. on 25th September, following all safety protocols in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
