In the words of Mark Van Doren- “the art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” The pivotal role that a teacher plays in our lives can never be doubted. They help us shape our life and secure our future. In this process they guide us and assist us to discover ourselves and what is the best for us. The students of the Bhawanipur Education Society College celebrated teacher’s day on the 4th of September with immense enthusiasm. The program was celebrated in two slots, one in the morning and another in the afternoon in order to adhere to the Covid19 protocols and maintain social distancing.
Collectives like Flames, Enact, Fashionista and Crescendo had participated in the event and put up great performances. The dance performance by Flames literally set the stage on fire and took all teachers back to their own school and college days and filled them with nostalgia. Enact’s performance was based on a school trip and was full of fun and laughter. Fashionista’s theme was Harry Potter and it was exceptionally magical. Last but not the least was Crescendo’s performance which was simply electric. All the collectives had performed brilliantly and the teachers thoroughly enjoyed the show. In fact, the students had filled the teachers with such a great amount of energy that in the end the teachers put up an amazing impromptu musical performance for the students. The event was vibrant and lively and there were fun games and gifts for the teachers to relish. On the occasion we had Dr. Suman Mukherjee who shared his wisdom and thoughts. Earlier Dr. Samir Dutta spoke about how this day came to happen and remembered Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The entire event was organized by Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Prof. Divya P. Udeshi and the entire team of students. Prof. Dilip Shah spoke about the changing profile of a teacher. Prof. Debjani Ganguly was also present for the event.
To sum up, it is very true that no one day will ever be enough for the students to express their love and gratitude towards their teachers but let’s take this one day as an opportunity to thank our teachers and value their presence in our lives.
