The AIESEC Collective of the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) organised the Global Village – a fair that provides the opportunity to sample different world cultures without actually travelling – at the College Auditorium on the 13th of August 2017.
Ayush Tiwari the AIESEC Collective representative and Aditya Shaw spoke at length about the collective, the AIESEC movement that spans the world and the unique ways in which it empowers the global youth. However, the fireworks were provided by Kanishk Sarogi a 2nd year student from a city college who shared his experience of reaching out and being humbled by the warmth of hospitality of people in distant shores as he travelled as an AIESEC intern.
The evening also witnessed a melodious musical performance by Abhishek Roy Chowdhury, which was followed by a session of beat boxing, presented by BE-ites. Flames, the dance collective of BESC had the mesmerised crowd on their feet as they wow-ed one and all with their choreographed moves. However, the real spirit of AIESEC was attained, when visiting interns from Algeria, Morocco, Slovenia, China, Sweden, Japan, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Columbia, Tunisia and Poland joined in the revelries, shaking themselves to a frenzy to, you guessed it, Bollywood chartbusters.
The evening, lived up to the AIESEC moto of empowering young people for peace and fulfilment of humankind’s potential” with the crescendo of youngsters from various parts of the world bonding over music, with BESC facilitating the process of empowerment for a greater cause.
This report has been filed by Nikita Shah and Shraddha Bose with camerapersons Vishal Jain, Shagun Lunia, Yash Jain, Indranil Mukherjee and Mayank Narsaria of the Expressions collective of BESC.
