Course Content: The course was designed to provide participants with a well-rounded foundation in English communication abilities. It began with basic English grammar and vocabulary building, equipping participants with essential language tools. Practical exercises such as practising dialogues and picture reading enhanced their fluency in spoken English. Sessions on interview techniques and CV writing provided them with essential competencies for industry, while activities like debates and group discussions fostered confidence and critical thinking in collaborative settings.
Objective of the Course: The 60-Hour Add-On Course on Spoken English aimed to strengthen participants’ grasp of English grammar and vocabulary while helping them in practical application through various activities. It sought to build their confidence in everyday and professional communication, helping them articulate ideas effectively. By focusing on both foundational and personality development skills, the course prepared participants to excel in interviews, debates, and group discussions, as well as to navigate professional environments with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Course Outcome: The course successfully achieved its objectives, with participants demonstrating notable improvement in their spoken English and overall communication skills. They displayed increased confidence in engaging in dialogues, participating in debates, and handling interview scenarios. The collaborative sessions on group discussions and CV writing further honed their professional and interpersonal abilities.
The Valedictory Session held on 30th November, 2024 celebrated the achievements of the participants, with certificates awarded to students who successfully completed the course.
With the phenomenal changes in educational and information technology, the role of a teacher has undergone dramatic changes. He/she is expected to possess skills and abilities to plan the curriculum, make rational use of the media technology, and design an assessment strategy. This is possible only through a systematic approach to faculty development.
