Objective of the event: Students were advised to conduct research and present their papers in the area of their choice
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science of The Bhawanipur Education Society College conducted a student seminar on November 25, 2023, in Room number 548 of the college. Academic papers on a wide range of topics were presented by the students of the third semester of the Department. Manu Kumar Gupta, Prince Mishra and Ritwika Dutta presented a paper on the Saptanga Theory of State in Arthashastra. Muskan Modi, Lalduhawma Hmar and Rupanjana Nundy showcased a presentation on Checks and Balances in the US Political System. Almansha Parvez, Elvis D’Souza and Ishani Chatterjee presented a paper on the Dependency Theory. The next paper was presented by Khushi Joshi and Sanya Qamar on Right to Information. Sanam Iqbal, Najma Parveen, Madhupriya Sengupta and Ankita Mondal presented a paper on Laws related to Consumer Rights. The presentations were followed by a few quick questions which were asked by the teachers of the Department. After each presentation, the teachers shared their observations and valuable comments with the students so that they can improve their work and come up with better performances in future. The teachers of the Department encouraged the students to participate in more such academic activities and also announced the positions which were secured by the students. The presentations by Manu Kumar Gupta, Prince Mishra and Ritwika Dutta and the presentation by Sanam Iqbal, Najma Parveen, Madhupriya Sengupta and Ankita Mondal secured the joint First position in the event.
Outcome of the event: The Presentations attempted to provide a detailed analysis of the topics covered in the Students’ Seminar. The students got an opportunity to hone their research and presentation skills.
The Department of Political Science organised a field trip to Netaji Bhawan for the students of Semester IV. A total of 47 students accompanied by 4 teachers visited the ancestral house of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. They witnessed the German-made Wanderer car that was used by Netaji in his escape from India in January 1941. …
