The students of our college organised “KNOWLEDGE ADDA” on 19th July 2016 .This was basically a group discussion on the topic of ‘Reservation in India’ which was moderated by Prof. Dilip Shah. The discussion began with an introductory session to various sub-topics on the subject. Today in India reservation is made for the different sections of the society like for women, for minorities and for the upliftment of the downtrodden scheduled castes(SCs),scheduled tribes(STs) and Other backward classes(OBCs) are primary beneficial of the reservation policies so far. However, now people are talking about minorities, and reservation for those below the poverty line (BPL).
The session ended with maximum number of participants agreeing to the abolition of this practice and that suitable candidates ought to be given opportunities as per their obvious right. The perspective of the youth in India was brought to light by this vibrant group discussion.
