“No one has ever become poor by giving” – The Diary of Anne Frank
The reality is that some people succumbed to the cold because of the unavailability of warm clothing. For the privileged, the thought of winter reminds them of cozy warm clothing and sipping warm coffee. But the poverty-stricken people in remote areas have to fight for even surviving with every dropping degree of temperature.
The Extension & Outreach Committee of the Department of Commerce (Afternoon & Evening Section). On January 25, 2023, Two students and faculty members visited Nadibhag Shri Ramkrishna Sevasram, Mollapara, Madhyamgram, Kolkata-7000124, Barasat with winter garments contributed by faculty members. The project aims to reach out to old people and orphans who need winter wear. 80 Mufflers, 10 sweaters, 2 jackets, 12 shawls, and 1 blanket were distributed among 12 senior citizens of Shri Ramkrishna Sevasram and Kamakhya Balakashram children.
We thank the management of the college, Prof. Saspo Chakraborty Vice Principal (Afternoon & Evening Section), and Prof. Atreyee Ganguly (Coordinator- Afternoon & Evening Section) for their constant support to conduct the entire project without any hassle. We also thank all the faculty members who came forward for this noble cause.
