The objective of the event: To conduct dental check-ups and an awareness camp.
Brief description of the event: On February 12, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, in collaboration with Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, organised a “Let’s Smile” – A Dental Check-up Camp for 170 children of Save The Children, Thakurpukur. Children were registered upon arrival and relevant medical and dental histories were recorded. Each child underwent a comprehensive oral examination. Dentists checked for cavities, gum health, and other dental issues. Special attention was given to any pain or discomfort reported by the children. Children received personalized advice on maintaining good oral hygiene. Dentists emphasized brushing techniques, flossing, and the importance of regular checkups. Children with significant dental problems were referred for further treatment. Overall, the camp aimed to create awareness about oral health and encourage preventive measures among the children. It not only addressed the immediate dental health needs of underprivileged children but also instilled lasting awareness about oral hygiene. Such initiatives underline the importance of community service and collaborative efforts in promoting public health.
The outcome of the event: 170 kids got their dental check-up done.
