“Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give”
To celebrate the Joy of Children’s Day! The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised a visit to the orphanage at Ananda Marg, where 12 students representing NSS along with one faculty member Prof. Gargi visited the orphanage. The volunteers worked hard to make the experience unforgettable for the kids, emulating NSS’s actual motto, “Not Me, But You.”
“The Children of Lesser God” – This was the tagline of the event, an example of how those with less fortune are treated differently than others. The college students learned this value well and developed an understanding of how the less fortunate live their lives by “Service before Self” even if it was only for a day. As a token of love and care, BESC Students provided snacks and food packets to the children and entertained them by dancing, singing, and playing games.
We thank the college administration, Prof. Dilip Shah, and Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi for their unwavering assistance in ensuring that the project ran smoothly. Prof. Gargi was the co-ordinator of the entire visit. Her diligent efforts in the field of social work are appreciated.
