Name of the Activity: “Journey to the Green”
Type of Activity: A quiz competition was organised by the Department of Business Administration of the Bhawanipur Education Society College on environmental awareness of the environment titled “Journey to the Green” for the students of Semester 1.
Date/ Duration of Activity: The elimination round was held on 17th September, 2026, and the final round was organised on 19th September, 2026.
Time: 11 am onwards
Details of Resource persons: The competition was organised by Mr. Siddharth Chakravorty and Ms. Romi Chaudhuri, faculty members of the Department of Business Administration.
No. of Participants: A total of 42 students participated in the first round, out of which 22 were selected for the final round.
Objective of the event:
The event was organised with the motif of increasing knowledge and awareness about the environment among the young students so that it helps them to be more responsible and cautious.
Brief description of the event:
In the first round, students were tested on basic environmental knowledge, including flora and fauna, water resources, elements of pollution, and atmospheric gases. The final round consisted of questions from environmental laws, documentaries, calamities, and wildlife. A special category consisted of case-based scenarios where they had to answer questions that best suited the scenario. A bonus round tested their knowledge of the college campus.
Outcome of the event:
The quiz competition concluded successfully, achieving its primary goals of fostering environmental literacy and promoting sustainable habits among participants. The event catalysed meaningful dialogue on urgent ecological issues, leaving a measurable impact on both competitors and the audience, and culminated with one winning team of two members, a first runner-up team of three members, and a second runner-up team of three members whose performances exemplified both knowledge and commitment to sustainability.
