At 9:00 am on the 26th of January 2021, the countdown started on Facebook and YouTube. The glimpses of yesteryears were flashed on thousands of screens on our dear be-ites. Live celebration started as Anjali Dubey, a B.com student welcomed all the dignitaries to the celebration. This was followed by a clarion call given by the NCC team leader.
The hoisting of the national flag was done by the Hony. Secretary of the society Shri Pradip Sheth and Central Committee members Sri Sailesh Desai & Smt. Nalini Parekh, and was followed by the National Anthem. A troop of 40 NCC cadets briskly marched saluting the national flag.
The Program was continued by student, Anushree Sanyal briefly narrated the history of the Republic of India. Consequently, repeated by the reading of the preamble of the Indian Constitution by Prof. Dilip Shah in chorus.
The President, Sri. Champakbhai Doshi was available on the virtual platform as he shared his words of well-being and good wishes on the occasion. Students of Enact came up with a memorable performance on the life and death of Chandra Shekhar Azad, the revolutionary freedom fighter. Infact this year the entire celebration was dedicated to Chandra Shekhar Azad.
The Students of Fashionista collective did an online fashion show on the theme “Together we are one” followed by the music collective of the college, Crescendo singing in chorus Gulzar’s “Ae Watan”. The program was carried forward by NCC students showcasing self-defence techniques by women cadets, to help and encourage women to protect themselves. The dance collective of the college, Flames gave an electrifying performance on a medley of songs.
Ranks were given to NCC cadets for their distinguished services. The honours were done by members of the management, the 6-cadets were:
1) CSUO- Amit Yaday
2) CUO Mozammil Rahman
3) SGT Gaurav Shashi Sharma.
4) SGT Mohd Shad Qureshi
5) SGT Asutosh Kumar Jha
6) SGT B. Swati
At the end, the glimpses of the visit of NCC unit and NSS cadets of the college to Shanti Rani Rainbow Home for social work were shown. The event ended with closing remarks from the Dean of Student Affair’s, Prof. Dilip Shah.
